Clara Bennett has finally written her answer to a marriage proposal, sealing her fate with a single word. She trusts her brother to mail it, but he unfortunately trusts his own memory. The letter is passed from one forgetful gentleman’s coat pocket to another, traveling from New York to the far reaches of Europe, while the heartbroken suitor believes he has been rejected. As the years pass and the mileage accumulates, we watch with bated breath to see if this wayward missive will ever deliver its message of love.
