Molly Dean has decided, with the solemn certainty only a nine-year-old can muster, that life at Hopvine Cottage is thoroughly unjust. Henrietta Prince has silk dresses and a pony carriage; Molly has an oil-stove and bushels of dishes. But when the baker Mr. Jones arrives with an unexpected gift of frosted citron cake, something shifts. What Molly does with that cake will either surprise you or break your heart. Possibly both.
