Henri Latournelle considers himself a man of superior intellect, you see. He finds his young wife Odette hopelessly frivolous, lamenting her lack of education to his amused mother-in-law. But when he discovers the secret behind Odette’s daily disappearances is a rigorous academic course intended to please him, the domestic dynamic shifts rather sharply. Suddenly, Odette is correcting his literary quotes and refining his history facts. Henri must quickly decide if he truly desires an intellectual equal, or if he would simply prefer to bribe her into silence.
